The nature of handling hazardous materials or waste makes accidents a continual possibility, no matter how infrequently they may actually occur. They happen quickly, unexpectedly, and require immediate response. This class will provide participants with the resources to train your employees or clients in responding to these unexpected situations.
HAZMAT emergency preparation and response can be a fast and fluid challenge. During this “trainer assist” class, we will use a variety of incidents to discuss eliminating hazards around your workplace with examples of the nine hazard classes. We will follow a major incident from discovery to mitigation. Learn about the Incident Command system. Observe a press conference and better understand the tools most responders use prior to their arriving at your location. Participants will gain a better understanding of how to work with their local responders, improve safety and response processes when transporting hazardous materials and at the workplace, and tools to teach these topics to their workforce.
